Makati Science ends 2012 with a BOOM!

The Supreme Student Government (SSG) ended the year with the annual School Fair with the theme “Party ‘til the World Goes Boom!” at the Makati Science High School grounds last December 20 and 21 2012.

The event was filled with contests namely “MakSci Sing-Off”, “Danztravaganza”, and “Battle of the Bands.” The objective of the competitions is to showcase the talents of the MakSci students and have a break in academics.

Over the 15 teams who participated in the MakSci Sing-off, Grazianne-Geneve V Mendoza and Nilo Mateo S Bunao IV from the Seniors bagged the first place; Alyssa Jamille O Binay, Rose Angelica S Carandang, Thea O Angara and Riane Clare C Ituralde from the Sophomores, second place; and Clarice Coleen P Aleta from the Seniors, third place.

Meanwhile in the Danztravaganza, “Huling Liko”, was hailed as the Champion against “Crew Wealthy” after the dance showdown between the top two contestants was commenced. Both groups were from the Seniors. “Hypercube” from the Juniors was declared as the third placer.

Out of the 8 bands who joined the Battle of the Bands last December 21, “Untitled” from the Sophomores won the title “Band of the Year.” Another group from the Sophomores, “Black Forest” was the second place; and “Ace High” from the Seniors won the third place.

Special awards were given to the most outstanding vocalist, guitarists and drummer. Alyssa Jamille Binay and John Faust Turla of Black Forest won as “Vocalists of the Year”; Glizer Iris Lovendino of B3Mola won as “Lead Guitarist of the Year”; John Carlo Saylago of Ace High as “Rhythm Guitarist of the Year”; Antonio Mari Catalig of B3Mola as “Bass Guitarist of the Year; and Jason Barcebal of Ace High as “Drummer of the Year.”

After the Battle of the Bands is the most awaited event, Dance Night. The party lasted until 12 midnight and marked the end of the School Fair 2012.
