The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand offers the needed curricular, co‒curricular, and extra‒curricular programs and activities for those who instead and/or inclined to pursue baccalaureate degree programs that are geared towards the natural and physical sciences, mathematics, engineering and technology. It includes the studying of core subjects, contextualized subjects, applied subjects, and specialized subjects. The unique features of the STEM strand are the following: research/capstone project and immersion program that prepare the students for the STEM‒related tertiary program they intend to pursue.

1. The following students are qualified to apply for the Admission Test for Incoming Grade Eleven (11) Students of Makati Science High School ‒ Senior High School Program under the Academic Track ‒ Science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand:

  1. Category A: Grade Ten (10) completers of public junior high school (JHS) in the Division of City Schools of Makati (DepEd–Makati) ‒ 60%
  2. Category B: Grade Ten (10) completers of private JHS within/outside Makati, and public JHS outside Makati ‒ 40%
All Makati Science High School JHS completers are automatically qualified to enter the SHS program of the school, provided that they will undergo the normal enrolment procedures.

2. All student‒applicants should comply with the following scholastic requirements pursuant to DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016 entitled: “Policy Guidelines on the National Assessment of Students Learning for the K to 12 Basic Education Program”:

  1. No grade lower than eighty five (85) both in Mathematics and Science from the first to third quarter during his/her study in Grade 10; and
  2. b. The Career Examination results, as reflected in the National Career Assessment Examination ‒ Certificate of Rating (NCAE‒COR) should have a percent rank of 86 and above in the STEM subtest.

3. The student‒applicant should submit the following documentary requirements upon application:

  1. Fully accomplished 2018 Admission Test for Incoming Grade Eleven (11) Students‛ Application Form
  2. Original and certified true copy of Grade 10 Form 138 (Report Card);
  3. Original and certified true copy of NCAE‒COR;
  4. Original and certified true copy of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) authenticated Birth Certificate;
  5. Certified true copy of Form 137 with Learner‛s Reference Number (LRN); Remarks/Purpose: Senior High School Application/Admission
  6. Two (2) pieces of 2 x 2 ID picture with nametag;
  7. Original copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character
  8. Original copy of Barangay Clearance

4. The application form can be obtained from the Guidance Office of Makati Science High School or can be downloaded at SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATION FORM

5. Any qualified student may apply during the following application period: January 22 ‒ February 15, 2018; 08:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m.


  1. Proceed to the Guidance Office, located at the Ground Floor, for documentary and eligibility verification.
  2. After passing all the documentary and eligibility verification processes, submit all the requirements to the Guidance Counselor.
  3. Claim the Admission Test Permit from the Guidance Counselor.

The student‒applicant will take the Admission Test based on the schedule indicated in the test permit. He/She should bring the following during the admission test:

  1. Admission Test Permit;
  2. School ID or any government‒issued ID; and
  3. One (1) black ballpen

ADMISSION TEST RESULTS The admission test results will be released after one (1) week. This will be posted at the Makati Science High School Grounds, and in the school‛s official website www.makatiscience.edu.ph


  1. A student who wishes to be enrolled in the Senior High School Program of the Makati Science High School must pass the admission test and interview. However, an invitation to be interviewed does not guarantee acceptance to the Senior High School.
  2. A student must submit all the necessary documentary requirements stipulated in the guidelines.
  3. After passing the examination and interview, the prospective student must secure medical clearance from one (1) government physician certifying that he/she is physically and mentally fit to enroll in the Senior High School Program of the Makati Science High School.
