To acknowledge the importance of science and to educate the school regarding its essence, The Sci-Tech Org and YES-O, along with the Science department, commenced Science Month 2017, bearing the theme ‘Science for the People’.

The clubs and the Science department laid out activities including Science Exhibits and Booths, Scinema Grade 7 and the Titik Master Elimination Round to start off the week. Various Food Booths were yielded by grade 9 students provoking all grade levels.

The month-long celebration continued with loaded activities such as the Max Scinema, Science Booths, Science Quiz Bee, On the Spot Poster Making Contest, INDBK Quiz Bee, Sci-talk , Science Bazaar, Tetra Pak Caravan, Titik Master Final Round, Seminar Workshop, Science Career Talk, and Launching Of Ecological Garden.

Joshua Padua, Pres. Of Sci-Tech Org – “Para sa akin, Science Month is for us to share our talents and skills, and to express ourselves in a scientific and collaborative way. Also in promoting science to the school and the Philippines”

The School’s spirit rose for the celebration’s main event, Hayop sa Sciyawan Contest. Seeing students dance, highlighting the movements of the animal represented. The contest ended by awarding 9-Becquerel as the 2nd Runner Up, 8-Darwin as the 1st Runner Up and 10-Einstein as the Champion of the first ever Hayop sa Sciyawan Contest.

Happy Aranjuez, PIO of YES-O - “People believed in science and its awe-inspiring greatness, it is such an overwhelming discovery and in just a few weeks or in just a month, many people agreed to cooperate because of the dedication and determination within each and every one of them”.

The school’s passion in saving nature and the club’s fondness of improving maksci in terms of science and technology made the celebration possible, made maksci feel that science is for the people.
